Leather Tool Roll

What is cooler than having a handmade tool belt for all your household repairs? Sewing it may be a little hard since leather is tough to work with, but sewing simple straight lines is not too hard. Plus, the outcome is well worth it. The leather adds a really classy and expensive touch that hardly looks homemade.

Terrarium

A terrarium is particularly ideal for people who live in apartments and don’t have a yard in which to garden. This glass microcosm full of plants will instantly brighten up any room. If the person you are giving it to doesn’t have a green thumb, just put fake plants in it instead! All you need is a glass container and some cacti or other plants to fill it up. It is inexpensive, and can be hung or placed on a table!

Candle

Candles are the perfect gift to instantly make a room cozier and brighten its mood. Plus, making them is almost as much fun as giving them! It is a cheap way to make large batches of presents, and you can make it even more special with a fun jar or bowl to put the candle in. Here are two recipes, one for lavender and the other for coffee, but feel free to experiment with other aromas!

Limoncello

We all have that friend who likes to think of himself as a bartender, so a one-of-a-kind bottle of limoncello will be the ultimate addition to their collection. Here is a really easy recipe that will make about two quarts, and can be poured into miniature bottles if you have a lot of people to give gifts to.

Couple’s Pillows

If any of your friends recently moved in together or got married, these pillows are a thoughtful present for them. If you don’t have basic sewing skills or access to a machine, just buy some throw pillows and stamp the letters on with acrylic paint. Don’t be afraid to add other little decorations on it to make it extra personal.

Floppy Disk Flowerpots

Here is a quirky and original gift idea for anyone who loves throwbacks. Not only that, but you can also recycle floppy disks that are otherwise useless and create something really cool! Take that extra step to commemorate your relationship with the recipient by creating clever labels for some of the floppy disks.

DIY neon sign

This one is not necessarily hard to make, it is just a little hard on the hands. All of the materials are under $5, and the possibilities of what you can make are endless. Whether it’s a word or shape, this will instantly brighten up the holidays and add something unique to the walls!
